California pastor David Johnson is jailed on six child sex abuse charges — as attorney calls him a community pillar

“I WAS A RESPECTED FIGURE IN THIS TOWN”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, PROSECUTORS SAY A 58-YEAR-OLD CALIFORNIA PASTOR AND MASSAGE THERAPIST MOLESTED TWO CHILDREN OVER SEVERAL YEARS, AND HE IS NOW HELD WITHOUT BAIL ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES.

A California pastor who also worked as a massage therapist is facing multiple child sexual abuse charges.

Prosecutors have accused 58-year-old David Johnson of molesting two children over a span of years.

Johnson is a resident of Ojai.

According to authorities, Johnson had access to the children through a familial relationship.

The alleged abuse reportedly occurred between 2013 and 2015.

Authorities said the alleged incidents took place in Ojai and Oxnard.

Johnson previously served as a pastor at Live Oak Christian Fellowship in Oak View.

The church is reportedly no longer operating.

Johnson also worked as a professional massage therapist.

Prosecutors charged Johnson with four counts of lewd acts upon a child.

He is also charged with two counts of continuous sexual abuse.

The case includes special allegations involving substantial sexual conduct.

It carries further special allegations involving victims under the age of 14.

On Aug. 24, Johnson was arrested at Libbey Park.

He was later brought before a judge for his arraignment.

At his arraignment, Johnson’s attorney described him as a longtime “pillar of the community” while acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations.

Yet Johnson pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Johnson is currently being held without bail.

And the court has ordered him to have no contact with seven people.

Investigators believe there could be additional victims in the case.

Authorities are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
