A Kentucky youth pastor was hit with a federal charge after allegedly confessing that he engaged in sexual acts with a teenage congregant, according to an affidavit.
Jason Coulter, 48, served as youth pastor at Green River Pentecostal Church in Kentucky.
Coulter allegedly phoned Kentucky State Police and told them he wanted to confess, the affidavit states.
He allegedly told a trooper that he traded nude photos and vulgar messages with a 17-year-old girl from his youth group, court documents state.
The pastor also admitted to meeting the girl twice for oral sex and other sexual acts, according to the filing.
One encounter allegedly occurred at a park after school, according to the FBI affidavit. A second took place inside his vehicle after a funeral she helped him with, the affidavit states.
Coulter met the girl through the youth group at the church, investigators said.

He told investigators that their sexual messages and image exchanges went on for about six weeks during spring 2026, according to documents.
Troopers interviewed the teen three days after Coulter’s call, police said.
Her account matched his description of the two meetings and the nude-image exchanges, according to the affidavit.
Investigators seized both phones and obtained search warrants covering the devices and Snapchat accounts, court records state.
State authorities arrested Coulter on August 17 on third-degree sodomy and three additional charges tied to sexual images and electronic contact with a minor, police said.
He posted a $10,000 state bond before federal authorities arrested him on August 28, records show. The federal charge accuses him of using online platforms to entice a minor into illegal sexual activity, prosecutors said.
The federal charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years and up to life in prison upon conviction, records show.
Coulter has not pleaded guilty or been convicted, and the charges remain allegations, court documents state.
