A human trafficker who forced a woman into commercial sex has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, prosecutors said.
The defendant was identified in court records as Dajon Blackman.
In February 2024, Blackman recruited a 25-year-old woman in California and began trafficking her for his own financial gain, prosecutors said.
Over the following months, the trafficker controlled the woman through threats against her and her family, prosecutors said. He physically and sexually abused her throughout that time, according to prosecutors.
In November 2024, Blackman drove the woman to Colorado, where prosecutors said he forced her to make $1,000 per night through commercial sex.
Blackman allegedly told the woman that if she made less than $500, she would not be allowed inside the house, prosecutors said.
While in Colorado, the defendant recruited a second victim and actively attempted to recruit another woman from outside the state, prosecutors said.

In late November 2024, the first victim told Blackman she wanted to leave, prosecutors said. Blackman told her she could leave only if she left completely naked and without any of her belongings, according to prosecutors.
He then assaulted and strangled her, prosecutors said. A few days later, the woman managed to get away from him, according to prosecutors.
Blackman later tracked her down and assaulted her again, prosecutors said.
The victim later described enduring approximately nine months of abuse that included broken ribs and being strangled until she lost consciousness, prosecutors said. She also reported having guns pointed at her, being threatened with a knife and living in constant fear, according to prosecutors.
Blackman was eventually prosecuted in Denver and pleaded guilty to human trafficking for sexual servitude and pimping, court records show.
On September 2, 2026, the defendant was sentenced to 25 years in prison, according to prosecutors.
During sentencing, the victim said no prison sentence could return the nine months taken from her or undo the violence she endured, but she was grateful Blackman was being held accountable.
She said she survived and was reclaiming control of her life for herself and her son.
