Jacob Cram, a 37-year-old Lebanon resident, has pleaded guilty to murder following a fatal 2025 attack on his friend.
The victim was identified as 64-year-old Donald Bowers.
Bowers was a wheelchair user.
According to reports, Cram had offered to help Bowers get inside his home before the assault took place.
Investigators said the encounter quickly turned violent inside the residence.
Cram used multiple objects during the attack, investigators stated.
Authorities allege that Bowers was beaten with a broom handle.
He was also cut with a box cutter during the altercation.
Authorities further alleged that Bowers was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver.
A blanket was wrapped around his face in an apparent attempt to suffocate him, according to authorities.
Police were alerted to the crime after two witnesses came forward.
One of those witnesses reportedly saw Cram attempting to hang a blanket over a doorway.
The witness then entered the home.

Inside, the witness found Bowers lying on the floor.
Bowers had duct tape wrapped around his head.
A screwdriver was protruding from his skull.
Then, Cram allegedly warned the witness not to tell anyone what he had seen.
Police officers responded to the residence.
They found Bowers dead at the scene.
Officers arrested Cram.
Investigators said Cram later provided a detailed confession.
He admitted trying multiple methods to kill Bowers while the victim fought back, according to investigators.
A motive for the fatal assault has not been publicly disclosed.
At the time of the 2025 killing, Cram had reportedly been out of prison for only about three months.
His prior record includes a 2018 conviction for robbery involving serious injury.
As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors agreed to dismiss a habitual offender enhancement.
Yet the guilty plea still leaves the defendant facing decades behind bars.
Cram now faces between 45 and 65 years in prison.
