“I TOOK A HAMMER TO THE RESIDENCE”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, PROSECUTORS SAY AN OHIO MAN SMASHED WINDOWS AT VICE PRESIDENT JD VANCE’S HOME… AND NOW HE FACES UP TO 30 YEARS IN PRISON AFTER PLEADING GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT.
An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to vandalizing and trying to break into Vice President JD Vance’s Cincinnati home.
The incident occurred in January.
William DeFoor, 26, entered the plea during a Tuesday court hearing.
He pleaded guilty to causing willful injury or depredation.
He also pleaded guilty to carrying out physical violence against government officials.
DeFoor now faces up to 30 years in prison.
According to the allegations, he smashed glass windows in front of Vance’s residence.
He was also accused of hitting security assets with a hammer.
Windows at the vice president’s home were broken in the attack.
DeFoor has a diagnosis of schizophrenia.
The vandal is reportedly the son of a prominent Ohio millionaire family.
On social media, he appears to have been going by the name “Julia”.
And federal prosecutors addressed the guilty plea following the court proceeding.

“Acts of violence directed against our political leaders, their families, or property, have no place in our society and will not be tolerated,” US attorney Dominick Gerace II said about the guilty plea.
Gerace stressed the need for officials to perform their duties safely.
“Our elected leaders, at all levels of government, must be permitted to carry out their duties free from threats, vandalism, and other forms of violence,” Gerace added.
The prosecutor warned that such destructive conduct would meet full legal accountability.
“Perpetrators like DeFoor, who put that freedom at risk, particularly through violent, destructive actions, will, like here, be vigorously prosecuted,” Gerace said.
But background details have also highlighted the defendant’s family ties in the area.
DeFoor’s father is also named William.
The elder DeFoor is a successful Harvard University graduate.
He works as a pediatric urologist in Cincinnati.
He is also a professor at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine.
In 2024, the elder DeFoor donated thousands to Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign.
He resides in a $1.3 million house in the tony Hyde Park neighborhood.
His son now awaits sentencing.
Thirty years remain on the table.
