New photos taken inside a New York City jail show ousted Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.
The pictures reveal that the socialist has slimmed down during his time behind bars.
Maduro, 63, is seen beaming in a gray track suit and a pair of white sneakers.
He flashes a smile in the detention center images.
He also holds up a peace sign.
The photographs from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center are dated June 25, 2026.
His detention follows a military operation in Venezuela.
On January 3, US Special Forces captured the socialist leader at his heavily guarded home in Caracas.
President Trump ordered the nighttime raid.
Special forces also captured his wife, Cilia Flores, during the raid.
Then the pair were brought into custody in New York.
US Federal Agents transported the ousted Venezuelan president into lower Manhattan by helicopter in January 2026.
On Sunday, January 4, 2026, a DEA agent led Flores in custody after arriving at a New York City heliport.

Federal authorities in New York indicted both Maduro and Flores.
The indictment charges them with using their leadership positions to work alongside drug cartels.
They are accused of conspiring to ship thousands of tons of cocaine into the United States.
The alleged drug trafficking spanned from 1999 to 2025, according to the charges.
But both Maduro and Flores have pleaded not guilty.
Following Maduro’s capture, leadership in Caracas changed hands.
Venezuela has been run since the raid by his former Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has established closer ties with the Trump administration.
Meanwhile, the criminal case against Maduro is moving forward.
Last month, prosecutors with the Manhattan US Attorney’s Office and Maduro’s defense lawyers confirmed his trial schedule.
His federal trial will start in June 2027.
He remains behind bars in Brooklyn.
They face the charges in federal court.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
