“WE HAD PERMISSION TO BE ON THE PROPERTY AND TAKE THE VEHICLES”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, POLICE SAY GEYBERT ALEXANDER GARCIA AND MELANY PERDOMO RANSACKED THE CORAL GABLES HOME OF A FLORIDA COUPLE KILLED IN A KENYA HELICOPTER CRASH, STEALING LUXURY CARS AND A HALF-MILLION-DOLLAR SCULPTURE… AND BOTH SUSPECTS ARE NOW BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES.
On a safari last Wednesday, a tourist helicopter crashed into a mountainside in Kenya.
Seven people died in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Among the dead were Henry Parra, 55, and Adam Hlavaty, 42.
They were a Florida couple.
The crash also claimed the life of Telemundo executive José Suárez.
Michele Sensi-Contugi, the director general of Ecuador’s intelligence agency, died in the crash.
His wife, Stephany Maria Hollihan Vasconez, was also killed.
Vasconez was a United States dual citizen.
Millionaire food entrepreneur Roger Edward Duarte died in the crash as well.
The pilot, Josh Outram, was also killed.
Parra and Hlavaty lived in Coral Gables, Florida.
Sometime between Thursday and Saturday, after the crash, their home was burglarized.
Police said the burglary occurred during that window, WPLG reported.
Geybert Alexander Garcia, 40, and Melany Perdomo, 24, are accused of breaking into the Coral Gables home.
According to an arrest report, Garcia and Perdomo “ransacked the residence and removed numerous items belonging to the decedent such as personal and business documents, jewelry, electronics, and artwork.”
Personal documents belonging to the decedent were taken from the house.
Business documents were also removed from the property.
The burglars took jewelry.
They took electronics.
Valuable artwork was removed from the home.
And the theft extended beyond the interior of the home.
They also stole the couple’s 2023 Land Rover.
They stole the couple’s 2020 Porsche Taycan.
A MacBook was also taken during the burglary.
Then electronic pings tracked the stolen property.
Pings from the stolen MacBook and Land Rover led police to a home in a nearby community.
Garcia and Perdomo lived together at that residence.
Both stolen vehicles were parked outside of the residence, police said.
The couple’s 2023 Land Rover was parked outside.
The 2020 Porsche Taycan was also parked outside.
Police then searched inside the home.
Inside the residence, officers recovered several valuable pieces of artwork.
The recovered items included “an art sculpture belonging to the victims and valued in excess of approximately $500,000,” according to the arrest report.
Police also found instruments used to produce or alter fraudulent documents.
Additionally, cops found a Ford F-150 truck.

That truck had been reported stolen out of Indian County, cops said.
The arrest report mentions the helicopter crash in Kenya.
But the report does not state whether investigators believe the burglars became aware of the couple’s deaths before the break-in.
Nor does the arrest report state how investigators believe the suspects might have learned of the deaths.
Garcia and Perdomo were each arrested by police.
Each defendant faces multiple felony charges.
The charges include burglary.
The charges also include grand theft auto.
On Wednesday, both defendants appeared in court.
Garcia was represented by defense attorney Paul Basile.
In court on Wednesday, Basile presented a document purporting to be from one of the crash victims.
The document purported to grant Garcia permission to use the vehicle.
It also purported to grant Garcia permission to be on the property.
Lauren Bailey attended the court hearing.
Bailey is a family friend of the victims.
She told the court that the defense’s claim was impossible.
Bailey said the victims had been out of the country when the document was allegedly signed.
“They would have never done so,” Bailey told WPLG.
“They had other people,” she said.
“They have a live-in maid that comes to the house every day,” she added.
“There would be no need to do such a thing,” she told the station.
Bailey also described the condition of the Coral Gables residence.
“The house was damaged; it was broken into,” she said.
“The door was destroyed,” she stated.
“They ripped off the camera, which we’ve given the prosecutor the photos of that,” she continued.
Bailey also spoke about the victims’ family members arriving from Indiana.
“His family came from Indiana and came home to a house that had been broken into and their things stolen, and they don’t feel comfortable if you let this person go,” Bailey said.
Coral Gables Police Department Detective Wilfredo Diaz addressed the court.
Diaz confirmed to the court that he believed the document was a fake.
The judge was also skeptical of the document.
The judge ordered the couple to be held without bond.
Garcia remains held without bond.
Perdomo remains held without bond.
They had the pings.
They had the stolen cars.
They had the sculpture valued at $500,000.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
