“I AM NOT PULLING OVER FOR ANYONE!”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY 33-YEAR-OLD CAMERON CUDNEY FLED A TRAFFIC STOP AT OVER 100 MPH ON A FLAT TIRE BEFORE CRASHING INTO A CORNFIELD WITH METHAMPHETAMINE… AND HE HAS NOW BEEN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN PRISON.
A 33-year-old Illinois man has received a five-year prison sentence following a high-speed pursuit that ended in a rural field.
Cameron Cudney, of Oakwood, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine.
The drug offense is classified under state law as a Class 3 felony.
As part of the plea agreement, an aggravated fleeing and eluding charge was dismissed.
In October 2025, authorities initiated the traffic stop after Cudney failed to yield while turning onto Route 47 from the Interstate 55 southbound exit ramp.
During the stop, deputies discovered that Cudney was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.
Those no-bond warrants had been issued out of Lawrence, Vermilion, and Ogle counties.
The warrants cited prior offenses for burglary, criminal damage to property, and aggravated fleeing.
Deputies attempted to address the outstanding warrants during the roadside encounter.
But police said Cudney refused commands and sped away from the location.

The vehicle eventually struck deployed spike strips as law enforcement pursued him.
Yet Cudney continued the pursuit on a flat tire at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
His vehicle was later found abandoned approximately 80 yards inside a cornfield.
Deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle inside the field.
Inside the driver’s side door, deputies said they uncovered approximately three grams of methamphetamine.
Deputies also recovered a methamphetamine pipe from inside the driver’s side door.
And Cudney was arrested a short time later in a nearby field.
The resulting five-year term is not his only active prison sentence.
Earlier this year, Cudney was sentenced to 11 years for a Coles County burglary.
He was also sentenced earlier this year to seven years for a Kankakee County burglary.
According to Illinois prison records, he is currently projected for parole in January 2032.
