A 54-year-old Virginia man has pleaded guilty in federal court.
Jackson Quentin Crocker, of Woodbridge, admitted to the federal offenses.
He admitted to sexual exploitation of children.
He also admitted to possession of child sexual abuse material.
Federal prosecutors said Crocker secretly recorded children inside his home for nearly two decades.
According to court documents, Crocker installed hidden cameras inside a bathroom.
The hidden cameras recorded minors undressing.
The devices recorded minors using the toilet.
The cameras also recorded children showering.
In March 2008, the recordings dated back at least that far.
The secret recording operation continued until 2025.
Over those 17 years, prosecutors said Crocker created thousands of videos.

But that was not the full extent of the case.
Investigators said Crocker made multiple videos showing himself engaged in sexually explicit conduct next to sleeping children inside his home.
And authorities said his illicit activity extended to the internet.
Authorities said he used the internet to collect thousands of additional images and videos depicting child sexual abuse.
That collected media included material involving prepubescent children, authorities said.
Crocker previously worked for the federal government.
He was employed by the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.
Prosecutors said the case did not involve a momentary crime, but a system that lasted nearly two decades.
On Dec. 2, Crocker is scheduled to be sentenced.
He faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in federal prison.
He faces a maximum of up to 50 years in federal prison.
He admitted to the exploitation.
He admitted to the possession.
